WHO WE ARE
Smith Slovik was founded in June 2014 when residential designers Troy Smith and Dave Slovik partnered and joined their two independently owned design firms to create Smith Slovik Residential Design Group. They have a combined 30 plus years experience having worked independently owning their own businesses and working for various residential and commercial firms in North and South Carolina. Troy specializes in the schematic design aspect of the company and Dave manages the projects and construction document component of the business. Together, along with the rest of the team, we take the design from initial concepts to construction ready plans.

Born In Germany, Troy's love for architecture began at a young age. "Traveling around Europe as a child surrounded by such a broad range of architecture influenced the rest of my life." Troy has had a lifetime of experience growing up in a family with designers and builders. In the past 25 years Troy has worked on projects ranging in scale and style. "My favorite projects are working with families who are genuinely invested in creating timeless architecture."
Dave Slovik
Partner
Dave has been a residential designer for over 17 years and owned his own successful business for 4 years before starting Smith Slovik. Dave studied architecture at SUNY Delhi in New York before relocating to Charlotte. Dave lives in Charlotte and is married to Shannon and has a Rescue dog, Scout. Dave enjoys sports, music and traveling.
